Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage design projects from concept development through to final production, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, R&D, product management, and manufacturing, to define project requirements and objectives.
- Conduct research and feasibility studies to explore new technologies, materials, and design concepts that enhance product performance and functionality.
- Develop detailed design specifications, sketches, and CAD models using industry-standard software tools (e.g., Solid Edge, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses to validate design concepts and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Oversee prototype fabrication, testing, and validation activities, working closely with technicians and external partners as needed.
- Lead design reviews and technical discussions to solicit feedback, identify risks, and make informed design decisions.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal teams, to address technical challenges and achieve project goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of design activities, including drawings, specifications, test reports, and design change documentation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a design engineer, with at least5 years of experience in product design and development.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Solid Edge, SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other engineering tools for design and analysis.
- Extensive knowledge of engineering principles, design methodologies, and manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing complex mechanical and/or electrical systems, components, and assemblies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to develop innovative solutions to technical challenges.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and deliver results within established timelines and budgets.
